I love my home state, and I know my fellow Oklahomans do too. That’s why I’ve been making these new pieces. I don’t really know what to call them–string art? wood sculptures? Either way they’re an ode to my favorite state and I hope you’ll like them.
I’m not putting these up on etsy, so if you want to order one, email me at lonechimney@gmail.com. Please specify your preferred color and know that each piece of wood will be different (they’re left overs from construction projects on the ranch–waste not want not!) Each piece is $25. We can discuss payment and shipping in the email.
Thanks and hope to hear from you soon!
Thank you to everyone who came out to see us at Indie Emporium this weekend! We had such a great time and can’t wait to do it again! And a very special thanks to Christine and Tom for being fabulous hosts! You guys are amazing!
New stuff coming very soon, including custom painted Tom’s shoes and Oklahoma string art featured at IE this weekend!

okay, so maybe not. but we’re close. thank you all who helped us pass 100 fans on our facebook page. we try to keep each and every one of you in mind when making our wares. we have had some good exposure lately, and we are very grateful and extremely excited about it! thank you to the organic bloom for giving a kind shout out to a large audience. and big thanks goes out to rebecca at square magazine for featuring lone chimney in her “seven questions” article. also, thank you to sarah for featuring us in her “exploring the creator’s beauty” giveaway.
keep up with us, we are working on some new projects that should be veeeeery interesting.
til next time,
caitlin
hey all! in case it wasn’t blatantly obvious, lone chimney’s handmade goods make the perfect gift for mom this may. head over to the shop and pick something from our ever-growing inventory. one item that seems to be popular for mothers everywhere is the dolly triangle bag set.
it’s pretty darn cute and the vintage inspired print is the perfect throwback to the days when your mom cared about fashion as much as you do. the dolly triangle bag set is different than our other triangle bag sets in that it only comes with a small and large bag. tell mom to stash her make-up, toiletries, or anything else she can think of in these two bags.
————-
alright, brace yourselves. i’m about to show you a picture of a couple exclusive new prints for the triangle bags. don’t go crazy now… there should be enough to go around.
first i’ll show you the zinnia print. here we have the lavender colored option, but we also have a brownish eggplant version that i’ll post at a later date.
we had this triangle bag set made up for a special customer who’s always lending us support and spreading the word. thank you rach livingston! check out our facebook page to see what her business, the organic bloom, had to say about lone chimney.
next is the exclusive peony print. we don’t have much of this fabric, so numbers will be limited. i had my mom make me the first prototype… you know, so i could carry it around and see if there was a response.
i love peonies. i love the smell and i love how they look. i also love how many artists choose to depict them. the picture really doesn’t do the bag justice, but this is probably my favorite bag so far.

also, barrie has been working hard to get some new pillows up in the shop. they are pretty awesome, and there’s quite a few of them, so i’ll show you one of my favorites. it’s another version of the galuna pillow that i posted awhile ago, but the dimensions and colors are different. so awesome.
i really love this pillow, and maybe mom will too?
don’t forget to stop by our shop and our facebook to get all of the latest updates.
happy mother’s day! remember, if you need expedited shipping, we are more than happy to work something out with you. but don’t procrastinate! mother’s day is just around the corner.
would it be tacky to give my mom one of her triangle bag sets for mother’s day?
for those of you who have already purchased some goodies from our etsy shop, thank you so much for your support. it’s wonderful to see that our work is appreciated. we’ve even had some requests to make more of things we have sold out of. if you still haven’t taken a gander, go browse around and you’ll be sure to find something special for you or a friend. we just posted a few new items in our shop and both are triangle bags.
first is the green spring triangle bag. we sell it in one size, large (11″ x 8″) and it’s $24
the vibrant green background and the whimsical pinkish red stems and blooms are just the thing to ease you into spring fever. like the other triangle bags, the large bag is perfect for toiletries or makeup and don’t forget it can be washed in the machine. in fact, i have one of my large triangle bags in the wash right now because a bottle of top coat nail polish broke open and spilled all over the inside. no big deal, it’ll wash out. which reminds me of how awesome these bags are for all of your manicure and pedicure tools and trinkets.
next is a bag that i decided to name ‘dolly’ because it reminds me of good ole dolly parton. it’s feminine, and almost old south. maybe i’m completely making these references up, but they sound good to me.
instead of the traditional grosgrain handle, brenda included a cream colored braided handle that lends a finishing touch to this vintage inspired gem. the dolly triangle bag is being sold in size small (7″ x 5 1/2″) and large (11″ x 8″) and are $16 and $24 respectively, or $40 for the set.
both choices are just fine for this time of year so snatch ‘em up.
drum roll, please. THE ETSY SHOP IS UP! this calls for the use of all caps. after a lot of sewing, painting, photographing, researching and hours sitting slouched in front of my computer, we finally have the beginnings of our collection up on Etsy.
stop in, shop around and find something you love! all bags are made by my mother, brenda garrett and all pillows are made by my sister, barrie lamberton. the photographs were taken courtesy of jeremy lamberton.
here’s one of barrie’s latest pillows, the ‘dastlinega pillow’ ($36):
20″ x 20″
from the cherokee word for wave, the ‘dastlinega pillow’ features a repeating zigzag design inspired by ancient depictions of rippling water. the earth tones and simple design of this pillow are sure to compliment the design of any room.

also, check out the ‘castle peeps triangle bag set’.
this set of bags comes in three sizes, and by request, can be sold individually.
i like to use the large one for my toiletries (if i’m traveling or taking a day trip), the medium one for my makeup and the small one to store loose, miscellaneous objects in my purse (chapstick, bobby pins, hair ties, gum). i promise you, you’ll get use out of all three.
the sizes are as follows:
large (11″ x 8″) – $24
medium (9″ x 7″) – $20
small (7″ x 5 1/2″) – $16
you get a price break for buying all three ($55).
the set fits inside the large bag for compact storage. zippered closure and option of handles made of grosgrain ribbon, or no handles.
that’s all for now! check out the store and get something spayshul!
we had originally set our etsy launch date to be march 15th, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, we are at a temporary stand-still and we will hopefully have things up within a week. we’ve got tons of new stuff and i’ve already spent money i don’t have on one of barrie’s pillows. take a look:
this pillow is so rad, i have it in my living room. so much for making money on this venture…
and in the sprit of ye olde st. patty’s day, i shall post a green pillow in his name.
“from the cherokee word for net, this take on a traditional native american design casts itself out in a beautiful series of colors. the clean lines will fit seamlessly into any modern room, while the color palette harkens back to the 1970s”
-barrie
and since three is the magic number (or is that 1?) and third time’s a charm and you’re always taught to knock three times, i’ll show you one more item for sale.
made with a fabric called “june song” by alexander henry, this triangle bag is fresh and spring-like, and the color palette is muted and a tad unexpected. the triangle bags we sell are perfect for make-up and they come in three different sizes. this is the large bag (11″x8″) and it comes as part of a set ($55). we have the triangle bag in 4 different color schemes, so be sure to check the shop for the full range of patterns.
i like to read. i think you like to read too. that’s why i begged just about every person i know for a kindle. it’s cute, it’s new, it’s lightweight and it allows me to read books without racking up late fees at the local library (where barrie actually works). so when a few sweet little ladies told my mom (brenda) that her clutches could be altered to make adorable kindle covers, i knew this was my excuse to get one and test it out… you know, we had to have a prototype, right? brenda immediately went home and started working on the first version of what we hope to incorporate into our line of handmade goods.
so check out the first edition of the lone chimney ‘kindle cover’ ($28)
brenda and i are crazy about this fabric, and she was just recently able to get more. it’s called ‘blue ribbons” by denyse schmidt. the inside is lined with a light, sweet, camel colored flannel:
i love the striations in the fabric, and the texture is so soft and cuddly, it’s like my kindle is being swaddled in a field of waving wheat (how oklahoma of me to say).
if you want a kindle as bad as i did, buy this cover, and then someone will have to get you the kindle to go along with it (sneaky, huh?) we’ll let you know if we modify the shape or the type of closure. and if you have any ideas that you think would make this product better, please, leave a comment! we want your input.
ta ta for now…
